Frequently Asked Questions...

Are you open year-round?

ThriveAbility Community Connections is open year-round. Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. except for Statutory Holidays. Our yearly operations are divided into 3 semesters: Semester 1 - September to December, Semester 2 - January to April, Semester 3: May to August. Members can join at any time independent of semester start dates.

Which Days Can I attend?

Our Members can attend as many days of the week as they desire depending on our program availability.  Some of our members attend 2-3 days per week, while others who wish to experience the full benefits of our program attend 4-5 days per week.

I don't live in Mississauga, can I still attend?

We accept Members from all over the Greater Toronto Area including the regional municipalities of Burlington, Brampton, Durham, Halton, Peel, Toronto and York.  Our members use private transportation, transhelp, and public transit to get to and from ThriveAbility. However, we do not provide private bussing.

Is there a fee?

At ThriveAbility, our membership fees are structured on a monthly semester-tuition basis, with three semesters held annually. This flexible pricing model ensures that our programs remain accessible while providing consistent support throughout the year. Each semester is designed to offer a wide range of engaging, educational activities tailored to meet the needs of our members. Whether it's building skills in job training, literacy, numeracy, fitness, or creative expression, our semester-based approach allows students to grow at their own pace and dive deeper into their learning. With a focus on community and individual development, ThriveAbility offers an enriching experience with each new semester. ThriveAbility Memberships are also approved for Passport Funding in Ontario.

How old do you have to be to attend ThriveAbility?

At ThriveAbility, we proudly offer a supportive and inclusive Adult Day Program designed for individuals aged 18 and older. Our program is focused on fostering personal growth, skill development, and community engagement for young adults and adults of all ages. We are happy to welcome members of all life stages, with no upper age limit, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Please note, while we are dedicated to supporting individuals with diverse needs, we are unable to accept children or students who are still in high school, unless they are 18 years old or older during the summer months. Our goal is to create a space where adults—whether young or older—can feel empowered, learn, and grow together in a welcoming and respectful environment.

Our family requires extended hours at pick up. Is this available?

We strive to accommodate everyone.  If your family member requires extended hours, we offer extended hours as early as 7:30 a.m. and as late as 5:00 p.m.

What Happens if we can't attend on a specific day?

Prior to joining, we walk all new Members through our policies and procedures which cover sick days, unplanned closures due to inclement weather, vacation policies and cancellation notices.
